Day 20 of #31AuthorsofHalloween – Rose Pressey

Ok, how about we get the gore and horror out of the way for just a moment. Let me put in maybe a Hallmark version of Halloween. Rose Pressey writes the most darling novels. Books such as How to Date a Werewolf, If You’ve Got It, Haunt It, If the Haunting Fits Wear It, and more.

The first book I read of hers, it was a couple of years ago. It was titled Forever Charmed: A Witch Cozy Mystery (Book 1 of the Halloween LaVeau series). The story itself is charming, just like the title. Anything with witches, I absolutely love. When you read it, you can definitely see it as a Hallmark Halloween movie.

Rose Pressey writes many books, you have the mystery, you have romance, you have the mythical creatures, she has it all.

Day 17 of #31AuthorsofHalloween – Kelley Armstrong

I love Kelley Armstrong. You have Werewolves, Witches, and Vampires. The first book in the Women of the Underground series, is called Bitten (yes, the show Bitten is based on the books). You are introduced to a woman who was turned into a werewolf on accident by her boyfriend, and lives with her now ex-boyfriend, and his friends, and their pack leader.

The second book, she is kidnapped, and you are introduced to more characters. Which, the third book carries on with one of those characters that you meet.

I was actually introduced to Kelley Armstrong through an employee at Barnes & Noble years ago. She saw the books that I was purchasing, and she brought up this author, with the title of the first book. So, of course, I buy it. I end up making multiple trips to the bookstore because I just wanted to know what happens in the next book. If I don’t like a series (which is rare), I usually just stop reading there. But, I never got that with this series. I would literally run into Barnes & Noble, go straight to that section, purchase the next book, go home and read it. And repeat it lol.

I love books with women who are tough as nails. I wish I can be like that. Instead, I am a big teddy bear lol.
